Dog Friendly Accommodation

We all love our dogs and often wish we could take them with us on Holidays. Recently John and I purchased a dog-friendly accommodation book and were very disappointed to find many of the advertisers were not actually dog friendly. Upon calling some of them for a booking, we were informed that our dogs were only welcome if they stayed in the car overnight. We find this outrageous and have thus started listing any accommodation that we find is truely dog-friendly, which means they allow your dog to sleep in the room with you or provide a safe, pleasant contained area for them.

Membership

Membership to the Surf Stormers is $50 (first) year. This includes first year membership to the Australian Flyball Association (AFA), a Surf Stormer T-shirt. Renewals are $25 with proof of renewal to the AFA. Membership runs from July 1st to June 30th. All dogs who are using equipment or training techniques, must be members which includes insurance. All renewing members must be financial with the AFA. If you have any questions regarding this insurance, please see the AFA website.

Due to the upkeep and purchase of additional equipment, weekly practice sessions will be subject to a gold coin donation. This will enable us to keep the membership cost down and still allow for new equipment purchases and upkeep on our current equipment.

Membership Assessment

We are introducing a NEW Assessment System for membership into the Surf Stormers. Your dog will be assessed for mandatory flyball behaviors and if they pass, you will be invited to join. If your dog needs help in some areas, you will be directed where to get assistance and are welcome to be Re-assessed anytime. The areas we will be looking at are Socialisation, Ball Skills and Handler Control.

We have "Vet Packs" to introduce our group to local Vets. Ask Debra if you need a Vet Pack to drop off to YOUR local vet and help us let fellow dog lovers know about flyball.
